ID and Passport Photo Specifications

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is the wrong section, feel free to move this thread if it is.

I went to home affairs yesterday to get my ID reissued (previous one got washed) and passport renewed, and had a difficult time trying to get the exact specifics required for each of these photographs.

I went to a Kodak shop thinking that they will know how to take these photos, and they ended up giving me the exact same photo for both my ID and passport, which I thought was wrong.

After much searching, I FINALLY found the following and thought I would like to share this if anyone else has the same question. If this is on Mybroadband, a future searcher may find it easier.

Please note this is for SA ID and Passport, other countries and visa applications have different photo specs:

You should have just done what everyone else does and climb into one of the hawker photo-booth caravans and had your picture taken.

Think about it, why would they NOT be taking the correct size of pictures?
