Idea for some extra bucks

Ok, in what universe do you only spend 1000 on Fuel??? That's not even 1 1/2 tanks

And Domestic Worker and Gardener will set you back at least 1000 PP per month (I do not have any of these)

Cell Phone for 200? Are we in 2010?

Groceries for 2000, if you are single and living off 2 min noodles, sure. Clearly you have not been to SA lately.

Redo that budget with realistic figure and it will paint a whole different story.

Just saying that times have changed over the last 5 years in SA

PS: Please don't see this reply as a personal attack, I am just pointing out my experience in good old SA

Its not impossible I spend R1700 on fuel but I get about R700 back from discovery and R375 in Ebucks effectively paying about R700

Cellphone spend is about R50. Mostly buy connect vouchers.

I try to spend most of dischem where I can and checkers when the vouchers were available. I effectively spend zero on groceries in those days.

It really depends how you spend your money and a bit oc luck.

* I got a maid and gardener once a week each, because you don't need them everyday unless they serving you tea and coffee hourly and wiping your ass for you.
* Petrol, I always made sure I got a job 10km or less from home.
* Cell phone, blackberry with unlimited internet and bbm - not your latest iPhone with 50gb for R2000 a month.
* Groceries - R500 from fruit and veg weekly is all you need. If you buying 2 min noodles for R2000 a month I think you are buying too much stuff from Woolies or the latest and greatest hipster joint or you work for the government.

This was all from a few years ago. I haven't been in SA for over 2 years.

Sounds good. Except the food price has gone up quite a bit and petrol is going to be something crazy like R15.50 a litre next month.

Totally agree on the cellphone thing. Dont understand how people can spend that much on a phone, and then all they do is browse facebook and use whatsapp.

I can agree on the food thing. When I moved to Aus 2 years ago I almost shat my pants when I saw the price of food etc. Now 2 years down the line I see that many things are actually cheaper here than in SA which just goes to show.

I spend less than 1k a month to spend fill my passat up. Last me the whole month.

I spend about 135 a month for cell package (50 mins/1GB data / 30 SMS).. Buy my phones outright and don't buy overpriced iPhone And Samsungs.
