Identification Needed for Medication with Codeine

Misguided my @ss. It's dangerous.
nah - he has a point.

It can be dangerous...but realistically its not going to be dangerous if you use it as intended.

I have zero patience for people who ignore safety guidelines and are then surprised if sht goes sideways as a result. A fckin pencil can be lethal if used the wrong way...we sure as hell can't legislate away pencils. At some point you've just got to accept that there is a certain level of stupidity that you can't work around...those okes just remove themselves from the gene pool.

We could totally do with a couple of awareness campaigns surrounding paracetamol though...without the internet I'd be oblivious to the interactions & dangers.

So now one person can't run to 10 different shops and buy the maximum available without a pattern emerging.
I like your idea in theory. Realistically though who is going to coordinate this in practice? Our gov couldn't organize a p.ssup in a brewery let alone this.

So we need to find meds that has codeine WITHOUT the paracetamol for a safer fun experience

Since this is an anonymous forum I'd like to share a story with you chaps. A few months ago I got pretty sick with the flu. I went to the pharmacy and the guy gave me a bunch of pills of which one was Sinutab Extra Strength (it had codeine). I ended up popping 2 of those pills daily, even when my flu was gone just because it felt good. After some time, I started getting sick to my stomach so to speak. I suspected my liver was taking a beating from a gram of paracetamol daily so I forced myself to quit a month ago and went on a course of Essentiale.

I take Adcodols when I have headaches. I'm not addicted to the stuff. I guess it depends on the person's personality.

I've been clean for around 3 months. So glad I don't have to deal with this anymore. Tramacets now actually works for me when I have a headache, even anadins do. When I had rebound codeine headaches nothing worked.

Tramacet? Wtf? Isn't that a schedule five drug? Same level as heroine? Anyway, I love that stuff. Colour me jealous that you have access to that stuff.

Fortunately, I never got addicted, but there was a phase where I was klapping about 8 Syndol a day.
I got sorted out with blood pressure medication, now I just take an Anadin when I have a headache.

Why specifically pick on Grandpa?

Because it is so easily available, cheap and the feeling is it's just a powder so it must be okay.

It is of course okay, once a day - but not 8 times a day, every day.

I dont have "access" to it just had a random prescription couple of weeks ago for some unrelated pain issues.

I know 2 women addicted to OTC medicine. One has 2 young kids and has often been driving with kids in her car when out of her mind - she has just come out of rehab for the 2 or 3rd time. Another is a Grandmother who has stuffed up her life and her relationship with her kids.

I say the sooner there is some regulation the better, and ideally the drug companies should get together to set up a central database, so that pharmacists can refuse to sell to people hooked on painkillers.

On the other hand anyone can go to the bottle store and buy 10 litres of vodka without showing their ID or being on some database.

Tramadol is something to be careful with though, it must be said.

So it's the fact that it is a powder? The rest applies to any number of other similar pain medications that are on the shelf right next to Grandpa.
