identify USB2 / USB3 ports?

My newish laptop has both USB2 and USB3 ports. But I'm stymied as to which is which.

The manual is of no use at all, as it covers so many different models & configurations.

Is there an easy way to identify which USB port is USB 2 , and which is USB 3 ? I guess I could copy a large file to a USB flash drive, and time the data transfer, but can I see from the USB port properties which is which?

The plastic bit in the port is blue for USB 3. If it's yellow you can charge devices from it if the pc is off.

USB 3 is blue and can also charge when the PC is off. Well, on my laptop anyway.

Aah. I should have looked! Many thanks. My laptop has 1 x blue USB port. Also thanks for the heads-up about charging facility
