Hi all,

My SO’s identity has been used in a attempt to open a Vodacom contract. Luckily we picked it up quickly before the actual contract was approved.

So subsequently we registered the ID no in question with the SAFPS for extra protection and double checked all credit bureaus’ records. Luckily no other fraud accounts opened.

So the question is, should we change bank account number to be extra safe? The lady we spoke with at Vodacom confirmed the f*cker had ID, bank acc, employer and home address

Thanks in advanced :)

If close to you go to SAPS and report it. Vodacom has cameras and it should be a easy arrest for them.........

In theory this is sound. In practice, nothing ever happens most of the time.

Yes, I'd change it if it was me, since they have it and have tried to use it.
