Idling diesel engines

I agree leave the truck driver. Someone once explained it to me and it pretty much went something along the lines of the diesel car has a modern diesel engine the truck has the old fashion one. The car has electronics that help it warm up ... or something like that :) You want me to call the friend and find out? Rhetorical that is .... :)
 
Im driving a volvo diesel car, book says dont warm up, as soon you stert just drive off.
