I have an iDS X-Series home alarm.
From an IoT perspective I would like access to the communication between the control box and the key pad.
So far I have a strong indication that the wire protocol is RS485. There are minor points like how does the D+ and D- map to the RS485 A and B, and whether I should use an RS484 optoisolator or not, or will a commercial RS484 to USB be acceptable.
What I'm yet to find out is the messaging protocol. If you have some awareness I would greatly appreciate your input.
Many thanks,
Reg
