Hey guys,
I was looking to upgrade my IDS X16 (X-Series) alarm panel to an IDS X64, as I was planning on adding more zones to my to system.
Looking around I found a secondhand X64 panel "good as new" on Facebook Marketplace.
Bought the panel, paid for shipping and it arrived.
Added my power supply and the Panel was completely dead with no signs of life.
Contacted the seller who decided to ignore me and "you are on your own BS"
So with nothing to lose, I fiddled with the Panel. I discovered life.
When connected only via a battery and "kick starting" the panel, it works. On the keypad is shows Battery Fault and AC Power Fault.
Even with AC connected, as soon as battery is disconnected, the panel dies.
Multimeter shows power from my transformer going in, but AC Power trouble stays.
The fuses are good, I swopped the siren fuse with battery fuse and the problem stayed the same. With battery fuse missing but AC connected, the Panel is still dead.
I think it is an AC Circuit or Battery Charging Circuit problem but I don't know how to fix it.
Anybody able to help or give advice.
It would be much appreciated!
Kind regards,
Rudolph
