FileHippo FTW: find the dl for IE 8 then, on the RHS column select the older version you want, a la http://www.filehippo.com/download_internet_explorer_xp/3282/

Did you guys get this to work?

Last time I tried to install an IE7 standalone (not the one you guys linked), it modified my registry, and screwed up my machine. Had to do a system restore, then use a virtual machine instead:/

Trying this one at the moment. If it doesn't work I'll go with the FileHippo one.

I use IE Tester to check sites in IE7, but it doesn't render 100% correctly and, without fail, crashes after ten minutes.

So, not much of a recommendation then...

I think our XHTML guys use that too. But then again IE doesn't render according to standards anyway so no surprise there
