Every time I log off my PC at work I loose my auto complete settings. So everyday I have to go back and re tick the "forms" box as well as the "user names and password on forms" box. Funny enough The web addresses box stays ticked.
This is all on Internet Explorer VERSION 7.0.5730.11
Can anyone help on how to get this not to "untick" each and every time I shutdown?

it could be an Global policy setup by IT at your office.

you could check what is being "policied" by running RSOP.MSC and checking out the report. Check for anything under Internet Explorer section.

Same Problem with me, anyone can explain what to do in that?

Please Reply.

Sure, and I would like to address the original poster as well.

Open IE.
Go to the Address Bar.
Type in the following command very carefully:

http://www.getfirefox.com

Press enter or click the "Go" button

When the website has opened click on "Free Download"

Wait for the download to finish

Double click the file you downloaded

Install the program

Open the program

Import your IE Settings

Make program your default browser

There. Problem Solved.

Alternatively, www.apple.com/safari/download/ or www.google.com/chrome would work instead of http://www.getfirefox.com

All of these options are superior to IE in every way.

Thank you and God bless... the end (of your suffering)

+1. Exactly what I thought. If that is the case, there's nothing you can do about it - those settings would be overridden every time you log in.

IF they use IE yes. AFAIK those policies usually do not include other browsers

but those policies could prevent the execution of other browsers or remove admin rights from the pc's thereby stopping installations of other browsers.

there could be several answers to you problem...but there are several solutions as well.

Not really ... company policy does not permit any downloads

Then how do you visit any website? You mean they don't permit the download of .exe's through policy? That's pretty easy to get past btw

Well, he should just go speak to the Admin's about this then. Nothing Programmers (us) can fix for him. And if he didn't even check if he is permitted to install any other browsers (USB Memory Stick + Copy/Paste = Happiness) then nobody can really comment.

Did you try and log a support call for your problem before consulting the internet for it?

there will be no stopping of him downloading exe's. It's the problem of not being able to run the exe to install the browser. I'm sure he'll be able to copy/paste from his USB memory stick, but that is as far as he'll get.

This is how i have it here at my office as well....no one can install anything without my password. Much better and safer that way.

Just thought of something that you could try.

Find out the registry edits for these settings and then export them. When you log-in (or in the start-up folder) you could just run the REG file and all the settings would be back to how you want them. Startup Folder would work fine.

Its easier to just go to internet options everyday and tick the boxes again. Then all my "old" stuff reappears again.
