Particularly from Vodacom to either Cell C / 8ta :

1. does the airtime balance on your old SIM get credited to the new SIM (Prepaid) ? ;

2. is there currently a preference in so far as 2G is concerned, to porting to Cell C or 8ta ? - briefly, which do you feel has the better deals when loading new airtime ?
(3 SIMs I want to port will never be used for DATA / 3G services, so would appreciate some advice on whether Cell C / 8ta is currently preferable for voice/SMS services).

On 2 SIMs I've been testing recently, I get full signal strength for 2G - 8ta/MTN roaming combo. on the one, and Cell C on the other - so that is not an issue, where I live.

No you will loose everything from the donor operator. This includes email,sms bundles,airtime,data and promotional services.......

I like 8ta whether its on MTN roaming or not they just have it all going for them now.

Thanks for the quick info. - in fact, I can work around the loss of airtime by transferring it all from 1 SIM to a 4th Voda SIM, then SIMs 1 to 3 whose balances will be negligible I can port quite soon.
