My setup is a RPi with attached relays and using google assistant and webhooks through IFTTT and use it to perform functions such as opening of garage doors, gates, lights etc. I do pay for the IFTTT service.

Three weeks ago, when I fired the applet to open the garage door, it failed. Ok so no real problem and just used my remote to open the door.

Then for some odd reason, without any further input, it fired off the webhook at 3am ! Alarm and armed response that time of the morning and trying to figure out why my garage door opened is no fun task. Then again a week later it fired off the applet again at 3am in the morning. Both 'misfires' have the trigger time of the initial failed command, so was not a new command, but rather appeared to be continually firing the failed command.

IFTTT support has been unacceptably poor with them not being able to explain why the applet is running without being commanded.

Will have to rethink using IFTTT when it comes to items involving security. It is a risk.

Any cloud thing is a security risk....

Applets still firing off uncommanded if their was a preceding failure. Time to dump IFTTT.

Anyone have any alternatives?
