I am new here and may be a bit dim, so I do not get your answer to Mr Cheesy. Are you saying there are 170 positive reviews about Igen? If so where are these reviews as I can't find any reviews on Igen.

I think he means this thread has had 170+ views yet no one has replied to the OP. Implying that no one is using igen.co.za...

EDIT: What's up with their website, was it designed in the 90's and they just forgot to update it or what?

I use them about 200KM from PE, I've got no choice in the matter, if I want internet it is either IGen 4Mbps or Telkom dialup.

I can mail you the pricelist I got from them a few months ago when I upgraded.
I can't complain at all about the service I got from them. Been with them for 3 years now.
But like I said, i don't really have much to compare them with. Compared to telkom dialup anything would be Godlike.

Their speeds are constant if you have the unshaped bundle, I changed to the shaped one in order to get more speed whilst staying on uncapped.
To be honest I haven't noticed much shaping but I should note that I use it for business and not really after hours.
 
Hi guys

I use them for my home and been using them for 3 months. They are not bad although the download speed is about 200kbs max for a 1mb line. To which I pay only R350 for uncapped.

A 1Mbps line has a max speed of 128KBps, or do you mean you get 200Kbps?
Theres quite a big difference between KBps and Kbps. The first one is Kilobyte per second, second one is Kilobit per second.

If you get 200Kbps then contact them as theres a problem. Unless you are on the Burst uncapped bundle which is horrible.
If you get 200KBps then don't contact them as you get more than what you pay for, which I seriously doubt.

I'm on the 4Mbps which has a KBps speed of about 480 on average. Not bad at all since the max is 500.

IGen recently got bought out by Herotel, not sure that it will mean to us using them. Hopefully it will get better.
Their prices haven't decreased nor the speeds increased in nearly 5 years. Hopefully herotel will sort that out

1mb line sucks at playing Fortnite, on a good day I get on average 220 ping and on a bad day 1000+ ping :( .
So yeah don't get the 1mb line get the 4mb line or the 6-8mb line or just go to Telkom or you WILL die (in the game of course)
