Hi All

I am DESPERATE for help here. I just got ADSL at home a month ago to have audio and video conferencing with family overseas. I have Telkom's Marconi ethernet modem. I have tried msn messanger, ICQ, and Paltalk. I can send and receive video feeds but there is no Audio?
I am not in the IT industry, and soon I will not be at all.

Can anyone tell me if I am wasting my time or if this is in any way possible. I would need you to explain it as if you were talking to a chimpanzee.

PLEASE, I am loosing my mind here.[:D][:p][xx(]

I'm no expert on these progs but i would think lack of audio is likely to be Telkom not allowing VOIP, so video's fine, but they strip out the audio stream... unless i'm mistaken.. but knowing TK, i'm not [}:)] [:)]

I don't see how Telkom could posibly be capable of that.

No, you've probably configured it incorrectly.

It has something to do with Telkom, but as for as I know VOIP is not blocked.
I have checked all my normal settings according to msn, icq, and paltalk's requirements. But there is something I'm missing. Maybe someone in the know how wouldn't mind me contacting them for some advice???

Btw..... speaking of light, the sun shines out my #@@#$....... but sound definately travels slower.

paltalk works. I used it like 3 years ago on my 56k line. Only audio though. My friends moved to UAE, we use chat through that. When they came back and their father stayed to finish work, they used netmeeting. Maybe try that

Yes, Paltalk works with dialup..... very bad quality, but it does not work with ADSL. (adsl - doesn't deserve caps for now)
