I see iLife 11 is out now - Does anyone know if any Apple stores in SA have it? It's not downloadable.

Also I just installed FaceTime beta on my Mac - called myself on my iPhone 4 over wifi. How does this work? Does the receiver of the call pay?

Wifi = data = whoever pays for the wifi data pays afaik.

If I remember correctly FaceTime isn't available over 3G/edge yet?

So how does that work? My wife just facetimed me from her laptop to my phone, using my cellphone number (I am at home on wifi)...

Regarding iLife'11 - I bought a new Mac last week - think I should bug Core for a free (or very very cheap) copy of iLife '11?? In the States they are giving it to recent purchasers for $6.99!!

You're forgetting that Core hates their customers and would never do anything like that...

Believe me, with enough b*tching and monaing (and hello peter) they will ;) They did it for the Leopard to Snow Leopard upgrade for new buyers so holding thumbs...
Actually, just checked, the US is offering the upgrade to iLife '11 FREE for recent buyers, you actually just paying for shipping. Now I'm gonna have to make sure I get it FREE from Core ;)

core sucks.. but yeah whats new..

i have iLife 11 - its super awesome.. but got mine from the US :)

mmm ... how does it work on the laptop side? Via email or phone no.? Maybe your email address is stored on her phone with your contact.

On a pc or iPod touch it goes on the email address which I assume you have to setup on your device or facetime app. On the iPhone I have seen that Apple magically has access to your device. You can check it with stuff like Mobile me where you remote lock the device, send popup notifications and so on, so I guess they use that same tech to get into contact with your device (over GSM network) and start the call which switches over to wifi. I think I remember something from the previous keynote that the call gets started of on GSM and then switches to wifi, and that is why it works only when you are on wifi network.

</random thoughts fart>

Just installed iLife - I only really use iweb and iphoto. iweb looks identical but iPhoto is improved. Faces is much better!

Back to face time, got a McBook Pro and Mac Pro and it does not want to work on either of them, just saying singing in and get stuck there, even created new account without success.
