Woodstock is on lock down. Cops everywhere and some roads closed. Seems like cops are tying to prevent this march.

Cape Town - About 150 protesters have descended on the city’s CBD as part of an illegal protest against poor service delivery.

Police have already warned vendors to pack up their goods.

The police’s Captain FC Van Wyk told News24 that about 150 protesters were in the CBD but that they were being “contained” by officers. Van Wyk said there had been no violence thus far.

Marchers had already been stopped at Woodstock train station just outside the city. Marchers at other stations had also been stopped, police said.

A photo from @CapeTownFreeway shows a large group of protesters on the highway just outside Cape Town.

...I am in the CBD of the City....Building has gone into lock down...and just got a message from someone Station side...plenty of protesters on the move....here...we go...again!
 
There's no such a thing as an "illegal strike" in South Africa.

Strictly speaking IIRC, there is no such thing as an illegal strike as according to the law, only a protected strike and unprotected strike. I’m not sure, but they want to amend the Labour Act to combat illegal strikes.

Do note that activities during an “illegal” / unprotected strike can be deemed criminal.

I hope that Paul can correct me on this matter.

These people are not on a protected or unprotected strike - they are not part of any union.

They are on an illegal march.
 
Note how its called an "illegal strike" and not "service delivery protest" like other parts of the country...

They're striking about the ANC members who were expelled. There was a warning bulletin last night... so if thats "service delivery"

The OP does not mention that. Just poor service delivery. Just going purely on what News24 is reporting, not debating the merits...
