Im confused

We moved onto a farm at the beginning of last year from Durbs where we had ADSL.... we were told by some genuis at teklom that we cant have ADSL out here because we have fibre optic lines .....

They can offer ADSL over fibre but apparantly the exchange has to have the ability to do that.

My friend has been trying to get DSL since it came out (2-3 yrs ago???) but he has a fibre line to his home so Telkom cannot give him DSL, they told him the entire exchange must be upgraded, hence the long wait.

I've also got fibre optic lines to my house and you can have ADSL installed. What they need to do however is install a mini-DSLAM (I think that's what it's called) at the exchange.

It took me 5 months of waiting until I complained on Hellopeter and then a couple of days later it was installed. (Admitably they were quite along the process then, so it was due to happen sometime). So don't expect it immediately but they can do it.
