Hiya!

I was playin around on the net and found a throughput performance test site. Yeah I know there are lots of others that have probably been posted here already, but I am curious as to this specific one. So if you have time on ya hands....

before you do this, clear your cache and set your browser to check for newer versions of pages on every load of a page.

http://performance.toast.net/

Type : Shuttle + Text
Web Host : a number of them
My Result : 130K-160K Throughput

I was just wondering what everyone else with iBurst is getting.

Would appreciate if you would reply with your results.

I got 435kb through put, but this is during the day, at night speeds willl be better.
This test seems to be more of a real world browsing test, while most other speed tests (eg. telkom) are for downloading files, not browsing and connecting to sites.

hmm.. Just ran the test again and got 157kb, but the page stopped loading for a few seconds at the end of the test, and this seemed to effect the result.
However this is how Iburst usually loads sites on my connection, it often pauses for a few seconds while loading pages. Pretty bad though

I see...

I tried a number of times and I never got that high. You have a UTD or UTC modem?

Mind passing me your MTU and RWIN settings?

canthonyza, the person hating windows is referring to kb (kilobits) and you are referring to Kb (kilobytes), so yours is much better

Nice

Using iBurst? UTC? UTD?

if you are using iBurst. Whats your MTU & RWIN Settings?

Iburst UTD with antenna, MTU is 1392, could not care about RWIN. I dont touch the TCP/IP settings on my machines, I have only set the MTU on the router itself. ;)

Yep, Iburst, with UTD + antenna, also 1392 MTU (on router) and also didn't change RWIN.
I think he might actually be talking about kilobits, i got a score similar to his later on in the day and i doubt he would worry if his score was that high! (160KB is near impossible at this time of day)
The site only gives you your results in kilobits anyway.

Yeah I am saying kilobit, IE my speed was about 1Mbit when I did the test, did the test again now and my speeds are consistent.

I have not tried it during office hours but knowing iburst it will be a lot slower.
