I didn't pay for the month of August to get my sim suspended because that was the only way to put your account on pause without cancelling the sim. September comes I get an sms my account has been suspended due to lack of payment as expected. This morning I log in to pay for August and active for October only to find Rain wants R500. How? My account was suspended in September. You cannot suspend usage and expect payment for a service you didn't provide. Sick of Rain.

Hi @Randux

Please provide me with email via PM and ill look into it.

TBH I didn't realise payment suspension was an option so I just cancelled. I would have like to have been able to reactivate it if/when I needed it but paying even R250 a month is ridiculous for a service I don't use just to have it in case of emergency.

Fortunately MTN and Cell C both have reasonably priced LTE specials at the moment and I can buy a SIM pretty much anywhere I shop.

They used to but for September they decided they will bill everyone even if your sim was suspended.

What used to happen if let's say you have the R250 uncapped sim. Come the 1st of September and you don't pay it they sim gets suspended. The R250 is still due for August but if you don't pay the whole month and only pay on say the 12th of the following money they don't charge for the days the sim is suspended. Makes sense because they cut it off completely you don't have access at all so they only resume billing when you settle the outstanding amount and activate again.

For September every that was in suspended state and couldn't use the service at all was charged full month anyways even though you had no data or access.

Had a similar issue but I was automatically debited on 1 October and no idea how to recover the funds, so I just cancelled the sim as I do not want to be billed again even though they said the account was suspended at the beginning of September.

Reeks of desperation.

Picked up a MTN sim to test out with their Bonanza special. Speeds are good and it's only really needed for backup if the power goes off.

rain = pain,
gave up and went on the cell C home connecta flexi plan, at least the damn thing works, not like Rain that barely works,
and when it does its sluggish and slow.

still thinking of going for the R499 package 5G but will see how that plays out, if I can afford it.
