Some of you already know about my long ongoing battle in trying to pick up tower 110 instead of 126. This evening we where fiddling and turning the dish antenna and all of a sudden it got tower 110! The downside is that I only have a 4% signal, but the upside was that it connects immediately, no "remote computer did not respond" error. Now for the STRANGE part. The dish is facing the opposite direction from where the actual tower is. Very weird. Could it be picking up a bouncing signal or something?

Yes quite possible you getting a reflected signal which is just as good, just a pity its only 4%
Still amazes me why you dont get a direct signal.
Have you tried direct but tilt the dish upwards about 10 degree as Helderkruin is a very high tower and with the angle of the antenna, its squirting down at you.

what was ur signal with 126?
ProAsm maybe the reason we are battling to find the tower is because our location is higher than that of the tower?
Insaniac, my signal from the other tower was between 6 and 9% w/o the dish and up to 17% with the dish. The downside was that I couldn't connect to it with the dish plugged in. I think there was a bit of a communication problem because we are slightly further away than 5.7km from 126. I always had to unplug the dish, connect and then plug it in again just to boost the signal, which didn't seem to make any difference speed wise.
Since yesterday it kept on disconnecting and battling to reconnect so I am glad I managed to pick up the closer tower. It seems a bit more stable now, even if it's a low percentage.
Still dead slow though...

I'm about 4 klm from the Parow North tower in CT. Do you think I'll get a signal? Is it at all possible to get a signal when you're that far?
