Hello,

I'm having issues when I use the component cables from my gpu to my tv.

I use this graphics card EVGA 6600GT 256MB

I have a 2002 Sony projection TV that is not HDTV, but it has support for component cables in the back (red/blue/green), I've watched movies with my DVD player through component, I've played xbox360 through component, and I've had my PC hooked up to the TV before with s-video cable which worked fine and I was able to switch up to 1024 x 768 resolution on my PC and display it on my TV.

Recently I decided to use component cables instead of s-video to connect the TV and the PC.

Here's what happens:

1) I connect the green cable and there is black and white video
2) I connect the blue cable and there is some color but it has a high green tone to it
3) I connect the red cable and there is no change the color stays high green
with or without the red cable

Most likely the current output from the card is not Component, but rather RGB, component or S-video as this will give the results that you are seeing. Check to see if there are any settings for the card output in its software app. You need to set up for Component (YUV) output, not RGB. Turn off Auto-detect if possible.

ok what the problem could be is you actually have to go into your graphics settings and as well as settting it to component out.. you need to set it to 480p mode or 720p mode etc etc etc... there's some dumb little tab hidden in there that you must set else this kind of stuff will happen

I have researched it and it looks like it might be an issue with my gpu driver (switching the res from 480p or 480i in my gpu settings did not help), so I'm gonna install an older driver which seemed to solve a similar issue for other people, if that doesn't work then I gonna lean towards what doobiwan said.

I had posted this issue in other techie forums but no one replied except on this one so thanks for your inputs folks, I appreciate it.
:)
