I'm planning to start playing Oblivion again.

I've played TES: Oblivion and I've played TES: Skyrim ...

I've spent about half a year on Skyrim (earlier this year) after spending about a full year on Oblivion (can't remember when specifically)

Anyway, I'm considering installing Oblivion again. It was such a great game in which I could lose hours if not days in.

The reason why I say this is that I have recently obtained Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor: Future Soldier, Ghost Recon, The latest 3 NFS games, Mass Effect 3 .... all of these took me just about a month to play, consequetively, if I laid them out end-to-end ... each!!! Oh, yes I forgot about Crysis, and Far Cry (the various versions).

It has only been Diablo 2; Counter-Strike (the various versions); Age of Empires 2,3; Oblivion; Skyrim; and Batman 1&2 that has been able to keep me engaged for months on end.

Diablo 3 is out, I know, but it's too expensive at the moment. I will however take the plunge at the beginning of next year.

Just starting out on Oblivion myself after playing Skyrim and am enjoying it thoroughly. Any advice from a veteran?

I bought it from a friend for R400 bucks.

Only reason I am playing it, and **** is it frustrating.
 
Do something underpowered in Oblivion that you've never done before.

For example, my current playthrough character is a heavy armor hand-to-hand alchemist. By far the most difficult combination I've played so far, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

And yes, Dark Brotherhood story line is pretty epic. Make sure to do all the extra things for every mission. Lulz will ensue (oh my that house in Cheydinhal when all o9f you are locked inside looking for the treasure :D).
 
Oblivion, Skyrim and Diablo 3 got boring very quickly for me. Everything becomes very repetitive after about 2 weeks. Playing Guild Wars 2 now and love it...
 
What about games like Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.
Has any of you played S.T.A.L.K.E.R., S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat

Yep, liked the Stalker series. But for me they're only good for one play, no repeat playing. Metro 2033 gave me a Stalker like game feeling, just a little better IMO.
I liked playing the Fallout series too, but it's getting boring now-a-days (fallout 3 onwards). I still keep Fallout Tactics (maybe the best in the series) installed on my PC at all time, like to play that from time to time.

Diablo became boring quickly (after about 2 weeks). Guild Wars has not shown the pattern yet (3 weeks in). I do think that the GW guys keep it interested by introducing events (such as the Halloween event) - perhaps I will get bored of GW in a few weeks ;-)

Skyrim was fun, but the traveling just annoyed me and the game was way to easy - it was so easy to level up the crafting skills. (I guess I should have also waited 6 months before playing Skyrim, with all the bugs I had to restart 3 times and eventually gave up).

Yeah I still playing D3 from time to time, with the new uber levels there's some end game atleast, I played GW2 for about month then sold my account to a buddy, I just can't seem to get a grip on MMO's...Skyrim was epic altough I have to agree the traveling sucked...Now I'm also in the mood to give Oblivion a go again
 
Enjoyed TES: Oblivion, found the GOTY on steam while back, want to play again with all the expansions. Any recommendations what add-on's to load to enhance the enjoyment.
