I woke up this morning after a whole night of tossing and turning (actually I that's quite common for me) and measured a fever of 38.5 degrees. Unfortunately teachers (the dedicated ones) still have work to till deep into the holidays, so I had to drag my ass to work today again.

Now my throat is so sore I can hardly swallow without gringing with pain. I still feel like **** but I can't go and lie down and sleep because of my sleep apnea. My sinuses are shot and my mouth gapes open the moment I fall asleep. I snore like an old diesel tractor and sleeping has become an immense effort. I wake up at regular intervals nightly soaked with sweat and exhausted. IT has been so for years already although someone diagnosed me with sleep apnea only recently. I'd rather lounge on a chair upright dozing off than dare going to sleep horizontally.

I basically haven't had a good night's sleep for .... years.

My immune system is rock bottom and if it's little dusty, I'm allergic to it. I feel like ****.

It sucks to be me.

an apple a day keeps the doctor away, did none of the pupils give you an apple before they went on holiday?

I'm the computer teacher. One of the auxiliary teachers. I don't have a register class of my own. :(

jeez they could still give you an apple even if it's just the core. well here's hopeing you feel better soon.

You need Sinutab with codeine.
It will clear your sinus and calm your system as codeine is a very effective painkiller (throat).

Drink an energade, it will replenish what you are sweating.

I promise you 2x Sinutabs and an energade will make you happy within 30 minutes of taking it.

Shame I hope you get better quick.

:) Good to see the humour is still fine!

I am just getting over it after 8 days of hell. Sinutab does work. And rest as much as you can.

Good luck!

I felt a bit like the Grim Reaper myself last week. Quick dose of Antibiotics and cortisone and a felt early nights and I feel back to normal again :D

Well Picard you worn out old junkheap, Have you tried a Cpap Machine. I could lend you a respironics autopap which I no longer use. It's fully automatic and will seek and nail those apnoeas before they start. See if it makes any difference to ya.

Whiskey and lots of it. The downside is you might wake up with a hangover but the flu or whatever bug you have will be dead.

I tried that, but the combination of whiskey and meds not only gave me a hangover, it also caused a severe case of the runs! :D
