Sorry, i have been messing some guys around here with my absolute noobness in the field of anything regarding networking :o

So i will keep everything to one thread and get a mod to delete my ones. again, sorry.

Ok so here it is, If i buy two account (1 telkom, 1 axxess) and i am using a mega 100WR that supports having more than one connection (i can create multiple connections)

after doing that, how would i (from my PC) be able to choose between the two account to connect to?

Will they both show in my Wifi list?
Will i have to setup a PPPoE connection throught control pannel describe here?

Morning Your Noobness :p

No, they won't show up in the wifi list. When connecting to the wifi AP, you'll use whichever PPPoE connection is active.

As said in the other threads, put your router into bridged mode, create PPPoE dial-up accounts in windows and use that. Just keep in mind that you'll need a good firewall when going this route as the PC will be initiating the connection, and not the router.

Regards

Libs

How do i change it to bridge?
How do i create a PPPoE Dial up in Windows?
(is that the create PPPoE broadband connection thing i mentioned? )

EDIT: if someone with the same router can tell me step by step how to do this or even make a video, THAT WOULD BE SOO AWSUM! please, anyone :o

I don't have the same brand of router, but offhand :

Log into your router's control panel

Look for the 'WAN' option - and select it

Look for a PPPoE option - it should be a pull-down menu.

Pull it down, and select 'bridged'

Or, if it shows you a static list instead of a pull-down list, select 'Bridged' from that list.

Save and restart.

In Windows - go to the new connection wizard, and follow the steps for a PPPoE broadband connection. Run it twice, one for each connection.

ok...

so the router is just set to bridge, with no details in it.
Then on the PC's i set up two PPPoE broadband connections, one for each account?
then I will be able to choose which to connect to?

oh and offtopic, what are the cons of doing this?

does it slow down my speed?
does it use more bandwidth?

The advantages of using your PC instead of the router is that you can :

1. Use your own preferred brand of firewall (eg zonealarm, comodo, smoothwall, ipcop etc)
2. Install traffic-monitoring utilities and have your PC share the connection between two or more PC's

No, doesn't slow down or use more bandwidth.

so the router is just set to bridge, with no details in it.

Correct.

If you mess up something, you can always reset your router to factory defaults ;) There is no way you can brick your router.

so after setting up both accounts on the PC's using PPPoE i can use either choose which one to connect to, or i can use Traffic Splitter with the registry tweak to route the local traffic to one account, and the international to another one?

EDIT: if that is how it works, i heard that you need to add certain IP's to traffic splitter to play games online such as Cod4 because it requires an international login and local to play?

If that is the case, what are these IP's? because i want to be able to play all my games online :(

Battlefield 2
Bad Company 2
Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty 5
and a whole bunch more :(

*nods*

RouteSentry will also do the job.

thanks, Did you see my EDIT? i think we posted around the same time

EDIT: Would the AVG Internet Security Firewall be ok?
