I saw this other day and - although I can't afford it ;) - but do have a question :

I see everything is built in, including the DVD ... How would you upgrade to Blu Ray?

Possible?

O - that's not cool :/

Thanks though

EDIT : How many USBs does it have?

You should probably wait then until they release them with blu ray.

:(

Well, now my dream of a Canon 7D and iMac has been ruined :/

Seems they're not as impressive as first thought.

My focus was on 27" LED high resolution and Magic Mouse - but no Blu Ray? WTF?

mac systems don't need blue-ray drives to be cool. just like the iphone & ipad. they are well thought out and problem free

Even if you buy a bluray, there's no video playback support on mac, data only. What do you need a bluray for?

Good decision.

Upgrading a Mac is quick and easy.

Just follow this handy guide:

FYI, the LED backlight in the Apple 27" monitor is generally considered inferior to the CCFL backlight in the Dell 27". Also, the new HP 30" kicks both of their asses. But of course fanbois use what Jobs tells them to use, not what's best or most appropriate.

I still want the Canon 7D ;)

But the iMac started looking appealing when I read about Aperture 3 imaging software and I saw photo's on the screen which were crisp. Then I heard about the Magic Mouse and was pretty much sold. Great loos and all in one design weren't too bad either!

The Blu Ray would have been purely for writing things to. I have 20GB photo's, so I could have stored all on a single disc.

Just amazed that they don't offer one, even as an option!

Amazing how apple threads always attract unhelpful posts by fanbois.

I'm not so crazy about the Magic Mouse - mostly because I use middle-click heavily, which the Magic mouse doesn't do by default. There are some third party apps that allow you to configure that (Magic Prefs, I think is one) but I find it somewhat cumbersome.

Toast Titanium has support for Blu-Ray. I'm thinking of getting an external one myself precisely for this purpose.
