i have an image that i drew which i want to be the logo for my future website/company, if that ever happens.

its basically a pencil drawing, i want to scan it and use an image editing programme to colour it, give it a 3D look, and maybe tweak it a bit.

what would you photography gurus recommend for this? i have no experience other that doing stick men with "paint" :o

oh, i know this would be beyond me, but what would you recommend if i wanted to animate it?

Thanks PK

p.s helpfull posters will not be killed by my lightsaber :p

Try the GIMP.
Get an onlime manual for it and you're set.
Its pretty powerful, I have been playing around with it. You can do some cool things.

The following are web-based image editors that have a Layers function. Meaning that you can have your original sketch on the base layer and use Layers on top to trace, paint, etc.

http://aviary.com/home

Also I think Aviary supports Vector paths, which is what designers would typically use to devise a Logo precisely.

Have a play around, it'll make more sense the more you experiment with it.

Photoshop + tuturial off google. You can find tutorials for almost anything. Get funky with the pen tool. Animating in Imageready is so easy a 6 year old could do it. There's an option to import a folder off images as frames in your animation.
