Image resizing issues please help desperate

I am using Joomla and I am having issues on utilising a software i uploaded and Joomla said sucessful but i havent got a clue on how to use this software and its very frustrating ...............My main aim is to have a thumbnail size jpg on my page as the jpgs i upload are often way to big and take a lot of effort to resize can someone help with some suggestion or maybe how to use this software called Mavick thumbnails

I use an old old software I once found, PICAVIEW, to resize.. Although not to thumbnail size

you need to upload the images that you want to the root of mavik Thumbnails:
/plugins/content/mavikthumbnails/thumbnails/
then simply add HTML code to disply the image.
the image that will be disply, just give height and width to the image to make it smaller.
then HREF it to the same image.

I've used http://www.joomlaworks.gr/content/view/17/42/ in the past though, and was very simple as the name suggest to get up and running. Seems to do exactly the same thing as the plugin you're using.
