imaginet and IS question

Hi everyone

I'm a noob to these forums so if i posted in the wrong place plz don't shoot me

my isp is imaginet iv got a 512 unshaped uncapped. the account goes through IS, for the past few days im getting phone calls from my ISP stating that im downloading pirate games... i never knew that the isp was allowed to scan what you download? is this allowed??
also i know piracy is a major issue world wide but i download a pirate game to see if its worth buying as games are so dam expensive.

IF THE GAME IS WORTH IT I BUY IT!

They probably have something in their Terms & Conditions that most people don't read, if it's in there, they can do whatever the hell they want.

Neither Imaginet nor IS actively scans your connection. However ISPs are obligated to take action if a complaint is lodged with them. I suspect that someone lodged a complaint with your ISP because your IP address is in a block assigned to them, your ISP then contacted you.
