Imaginet really slow ?

Hi guys/gals,

I signed up for Imaginet uncapped 384k adsl about two weeks ago. For the first week it was blazingly fast... not it seems like i am on dialup - and line also appears really unstable, with speeds varying from 8k to 20k. Interestingly enough, it does not appear that I am getting disconnected...

Any suggestions ?

I'm on Imaginet too ........ same speed it's always been here. What is it slow on (P2P, websites, etc?)

Are you running the real uncapped, or are you on the threshold uncapped? If the latter (cheaper one), you may only download 5GB per 10 days rolling window, otherwise you are limited to 128kbps until your last 10 days is at less than 5Gb.

froot - using their dynamic dsl uncapped adsl account

hope their isn't a problem with my line - then i have to get telkom involved ...

eish, sounds like a line problem ...... have you phoned the chaps at Imaginet to try get clarification?

most definately not a line problem - i can download at full speed from from IS ftp server, and when I use a SAIX adsl account (international and local).

According to them nothing is wrong...

btw. it turns out they shape rapidshare, netload etc...

I have cancelled my account with them... turns out uncapped internet for me is just not going to happen
