iMate JAMin - Vodacom MMS settings

Hey Guys

so I've had my iMate JAMin for 18months now and still no idea how to set up MMS using vodacom.

I've gone to all the sites ... leaf / vodacom's settings / alles. Vodacom pretends to send me the settings file, but doesn't really. big ol' tease.

I have GPRS activated and I can browse online, use msn messenger, etc... just no MMS love.

can anyone help ?

Is there nobody else on vodacom with a JAMin ?

Dude you cannot be serious .... i posted these settings a couple of times but you are forgiven for not finding them in a search ... those posts are must be buried so deep by the the day to day activity on this forum ...

alrighty then ...

first step in configuring your account is to delete all the hashed up attempts.

first configure the connection ..
start - settings - connections - connections icon. under My Work network create a new modem connection .. call it what ever you like ... modem type- cellular line ( GPRS etc ) APN - mms.vodacom.net ... no user name no password.

now jump into your MMS configuration ... server name = wot eva ou like.
Gateway - 196.6.128.6
port number - 9201
server address - http://mmsc.vodacom4me.co.za
connect via - My Work Network
Wap 1.2 works for me ... not ure wot the difference is between 2.0

if you have configured these settings correctly ... your device should be fine.
in most cases you need to send an MMS before you can start receiving ..
you ma not be able to retrieve messages pending in the queue before you sent your first MMS.

Correct. But I'm on mtn. Trying to find the link where I downloaded my settings. A cab file you got to dl. pretty sure they had a voda file there as well

I've been to the vodacom link how many times where they promise to "send the file to my phone" ... still waiting :/
