IMEI Number check -

Hi

I am looking to sell my S3 mini that I am not using currently.
A potential buyer has asked me to provide him with the IMEI number so he can check if it isn't stolen.

My question:

1. What is the risk if I do provide him with it?
2. How would I go about checking the status of the phone?

If you have proof of purchase, then you shouldn't need to provide the imei number. Imei numbers can be changed on android devices, so I wouldn't give it to him. Who knows what he intends doing with it.

Thanks. I bought it from a guy on BidorBuy who had good ratings. So no proof of purchase direct from Samsung/networks.
So what you are saying he could use my legit IMEI on another android device? Scary stuff
