That is why factory locked devices are not recommended.
Basically, your phone cannot generate it's own push certificate as it has not been activated by official means. At least this is what seems to be the issue. I can confirm that push does not work on unlocked devices without tweaking them as such.
So you need to hack it - http://www.mostiwant.com/blog/fixac...-iphone-4-on-unofficial-carriers-with-mitime/
Which network and which APN are you using?
If you are on Vodacom and using the "internet" APN you wont get Facetime / iMessage / Tethering... change the APN to iphone.vodacom.za and then restart... should solve it.
Did you confirm your push working after that method?
Im with Voda and using the iphone.vodacom.za APN but still no luck![]()
Yes i did, but still was not pushing!
and MiTime said i dont have a token or something!
Do you know if your number has had the iPhone APN activated on it by the network? Inbox me your number and I can check?
And then have you tried "reset settings" under Settings/ Network/ Cellular Data ?
That's your problem. The token Is the "certificate" was referring to earlier. So you purchased the token for $5.99?
After splittings hairs and blaming Aple for the inferior iPhone5, I had to find out that CellC South Africa does not support sevice for iMessage and Facetime? But they still sold me the phone with NO outfront information about the lack of support for thse functions.
Got it specifically to communicate with my friends that all have the devices (alternative to BBM)
