Immedia's digital tools are making radio cool again

Radio is facing a challenging time. Listener numbers have fallen during the pandemic, advertising budgets have been cut, and streaming is luring audiences away from traditional radio.

Durban-based Immedia is now trying to breathe new life into radio through Fabrik - a set of digital tools which helps media companies live-stream shows and grow their audiences.

The platform is already used by many established radio stations, including Gagasi FM, Smile 90.4 FM, and YFM with positive results.

The only way they can make it cool again is if they stream live video of the studio as well..... Look at Twitch Music.
Get a chick with booobs that plays good music and then you'll have an audience overnight... you're welcome, now monetise.

Yeah radio isn't really cool anymore..

It only has an extended shelf life in this country because streaming media takes data and data is expensive still. Radio will become less and less relevant as data becomes cheaper and more people move to proper streaming media platforms.

Radio is dead.

Flipped between a few local stations the other day, and .... Uhhhhg.

So it is cool being told what to listen? Yeah right. Join 2021. I play what I like. No need to listen to ad ridden radio stations playing more ads than music and when playing music it just a bunch of garbage.

Q:How to make radio cool again?
A: Stop Broadcasting and use the spectrum for broadband
