Hi guys,

I'm making a compilation of clips from one longer movie. The source file is a .mp4 file, H.264 25 fps video and AAC audio. I made a new project, selected, dragged and dropped my clips into it, then it Share -> Export and accepted the defaults for everything, which resulted in a .mov file, H.264 25 fps video and AAC adudio.

From the resulting file, the first clip plays fine, but subsequent clips have the audio 2-3 seconds ahead of the video. I thought at first that something is going wrong during th export, but I noticed that even if I play back the clips as they are in Project view (top left box), they are out of sync too.

I'm a complete noob with video editing, so I don't really know what I'm doing here. I've fiddled with all the audio controls, but I can't seem to get this fixed.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks

Are your music tracks pinned or unpinned?

I don't even know what "pinned" or "unpinned" means in this context. Is it the same as "detached"? The audio is now detached - it wasn't to start with. Didn't seem to make a difference.

Thanks

If it's unpinned cant you just adjust the start?

Not that I can find. I can't even find the terminology "pinned" or "unpinned" anywhere. I've looked through all the menus, tried all the buttons. The only thing that looks like it might do that is a small grey dot that appears on the left margin of the audio that I can drag, but it doesn't appear to do anything.

I'll spend more time tinkering tonight.

I've been trying that. I think the difference is I'm not adding a sound track. I'm just trying to work with the original audio.

I've found the article about "snap to beat" - I'll try that next.
