Who are they?
My client is one of SA’s biggest payment gateway companies based in Sandton.
What will you do?
As the Implementation and Account Manager you will be required to lead successful implementations whilst meeting timelines and technical requirements for multiple financial solutions on a global level. The manager coordinates and prioritizes project tasks, manages timeline expectations, maintains project plans and communicates continually with clients on requirements and project status. Ensuring the project is implemented within contractual obligations and regulatory requirements before the project is moved over to deployment and maintenance.
Internally the role of the implementation manager will be that of a product owner in an Agile scrum development team. The product owner must have a strong technical background and is responsible for prioritizing task backlog as well as elaborating on task requirements with system analysts and the development manager. The product owner is viewed as the project champion and will coordinate project timelines with the development manager.
Communication skills need to be at the highest level, as this role must convey project status in lay terms to clients, in addition to communicating goals and tasks with project team members. Troubleshooting is a required skill to assist clients with issues and to convert these into workable technical items. The manager is responsible for detecting potential issues and implementing solutions when issues threaten to delay the timeline or business operations.
Responsibilities include:
Manage project expectation with clients, continuous communication with clients and development manager and to hold specific focus on requirement gathering, change request sign off and project deliverables
Define and elaborate on requirements to a granular level with system analysts and team to implementation with the development manager
Creation and maintenance of project plans for external clients which adapt to internal agile methodologies
Enforce successful implementations across multiple functions in organization
Anticipate delays and initiate plans and alternative solutions
Participate in the daily scrums (where necessary), sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews and retrospectives
Ensure project deliverables are completed in accordance to signed off project requirements
Collaborate with all cross-functional team members/system owners to accomplish required tasks and provide project updates
Convey timelines, deliverables, risks, delays and impacts to project team members (and lead teams as required)
Report weekly to executive sponsor(s) when tasks are at risk until critical path determined
Prioritize and sequence product backlog
Perform independently with minimal supervision and work with others developing trusting relationships
Maintain strict adherence to internal policies and internal controls within organization
Collaborate future implementations and system enhancements by collaborating with various business areas and system owners
Collaborate with vendors to implement enhancements where necessary

2+ years in product leadership role
Strong verbal and written communication skills
75% technical, 25% business orientation
