Import tax. Aus.

I ordered stuff from Aus. It’s a small package. I have to pay import taxes how do they calculate it? I Paid 118 AUD with freight for this package. Now my taxes comes to R 450. How do they work that out?

It should be VAT (14%) and then whatever duty they put on it . . . then there is a possibility of a handling fee so when it comes down to it R450 is actually possible

Looks like 40% for duties. Will make me think again before i import....

Importing clothing is really expensive. SA is trying to protect local producers. Remember the whole "Chinese import clothes" thing a few months ago?

I know and usually buy SA but this is special undies.... you just do not get the stuff here.
