Hey guys,

I recently got my phone stolen so id like to import the new motorola atrix 4g.

Iv never done something like this, any tips or websites or anything else worthwhile i should know?

Got no idea where to begin!

Mail forwarding company?
Never heard of this.
Sounds like a good concept. Please tell more.

My dad imported an Atrix recently from ebay. Payed R3500 + Customs worked at about R4000.
Nice phone, just watch out for the A&T stuff, flash as soon as Vodacom SA rom releases.

I'm thinking that maybe we should put more emphasis on this thread because considering how long it took for the iPhone 4 to arrive in SA, importing is about the only way the Apple fanboys are gonna get their iPhone 5's without the 6 - 12 month waiting list. :D

Does everything on the site qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery?
Only Books, Music and DVD qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery. However, gift certificates and items purchased from third-party sellers on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace are not eligible.

in terms of this thread

I will try to convince them that the cell I want is a
1. a book, I will read stuff off it
2. music, I will listen to music on it
3. DVD, I will store info on it

and report back if they agree

Hahaha. My brother was obsessed with getting a new iPhone 4 (in fairness his old iPhone was broken) so when we travelled to the US last year he made sure to get one before we left. The guy literally spent a year trying to get the phone to work in SA. They kept releasing new versions of the jail break and every time we saw him he would say "On Tuesday they are releasing the jailbreak I need and I will be able to use my phone."

It's working now but he could have actually spent the same amount of money on the phone when it came out here and had it working 6 months before he finally made it work.

Moral of the story: make absolutely sure you can use the phone here or rather wait just a little - you will be able to get it here eventually.
