Importing from UK

If anyone knows the answer, i'd gladly appreciate it.

Are the consoles we get here in SA any different from the consoles you get in Europe? Except of course the Asian consoles.

There are a ton of games i would like to get and only find them on UK websites. Will these games play on my PS2 bought in SA?
Are South Africa's PAL and Europes PAL any different, cuz as far as i know, we arent?...

UK also falls under DVD region code 2 with us.
Lotsa people import games from the UK.
There shouldn't be any hassle with it.

We're a PAL territory so yes games from UK and europe will work.
Asia and America are NTSC regions so they won't work on a PAL PS2

Swap Magic can be used for a different region game as far as I know.

Or a mod-chip, although that as we all know is mostly for "backup games" ...
