Importing Hardware from China

Hi

I have Imported an CPU from China, When I tracked the parcel, It said " Passed China customs" . Does this mean I still Have to pay custom duties when it comes to South Africa ?
If I have to pay customs on that Item, How much custom tax do I have to pay If the item has the value of R 5000 in South Africa ?

You'll probably have to pay 14% VAT on 110% of the R5000, which means that you'll be paying R770 VAT.

and you'll be paying this to SA customs via either the post office, or courier company that you've used to import the goods.

Exept for screens there are no duties on computer components so you should only need to pay VAT.
