A friend of mine lives in China close to some factories that make GoPro (clones.... not exact clones, but similar devices) of high quality. I was thinking of importing a lot of them. I have a couple of hundred thousand that I would like to get working so I was thinking that buying and selling a reliable product might be the way to go.

How much does an import licence cost?

When are you required to have an import licence?

Why type of pitfalls can you expect to encounter?

I heard that you will need to show CE certification for the chargers (where do I find this information?)

What other certification is required?

I have been told to avoid anything with wifi as you need the device to be ICASA approved for this.

What else should I be investigating / reading up on?

What type of duty/tariffs are you expected to pay?

When you import for business / to make a profit

A lot. The stuff could still be crap or you get sued for patent infringement if the copy is too good.
