Tiger Direct is pretty well known so I doubt that would be an issue

I don't think they ship to SA, most places don't.

Get a quote for the shipping first in any case. Otherwise you can get a quote for shipping and customs from www.wantitall.co.za, just send them the link.

Just wonder if you would get caught out with any duties and maybe have to pay VAT on it.

I know in the past when I have ordered stuff (non computer related) I have had to pay VAT on it.

There won't be any duties on it in this case, but you'll always have to pay VAT. Unless it slips by customs, which rarely happens to me.

Are you sure it wasn't the 8600GT you saw? There's no $100 XFX 8800GT on tigerdirect as far as I can tell.

Maybe its the XFX 8600GT XXX card he was looking at retailing at only $119.99 before rebate.
