Improve your browsing speed in FireFox : Tips

Here are a few tips that I use to make browsing on a slow internet connection better, faster and cheaper....

There is some amazing addons for Firefox that will help you get this improvement.

Image Block - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/image-block

Image Block adds a toggle button that conditionally blocks/allows loading of images on webpages. Blocking images results in faster browsing, especially helpful on handheld devices or slower connections like GSM/GPRS/EDGE dial-up etc.

Adblock - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

Annoyed by adverts? Troubled by tracking? Bothered by banners? Install Adblock Plus now to regain control of the internet and change the way that you view the web.

If you install adblock, I highly recommended that you also go to http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/
and add all three block lists to your adblock.

Am at work at the moment, so will try to remember what Firefox addons I use at home:

FlashBlock
AdBlock Plus

Numerous others, but not for speed improvement, but productivity improvement.

Thanks, will check Image block out. I use an add-on called imglikeopera: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/imglikeopera/ but always have to fiddle with the compatibility on newer versions of ff...
