anyone experince the beeg DNS fark up tonight or something... couldnt connect to anything.... DNS lookup failure or some **** like that.
Me suspects uber head techie at sentech pressing the wrong button in their server room... and as usual... oh... is it weird Sentech are always the last to find stuff like this out... I mean they are the ISP...
fockers!
erhm... that onspeed looks a bit like something that caches stuff and their online demo is more like an online verimark ad, and a bad one. The fact that you can not download it for trial purposes is a bit dodgy...
I can't possibly see how they can speed up an internet connection from the recieving end... correct me if I am wrong, but if your ISP is pushing 4K to you what software is going to convince it to push more?
Actually its the same thing...compression of various elements, since jpeg and similar are already (lossy) compressed it seems likely that you will sacrifice quality...i.e. to get 5X speed you need to compress all elements by a factor of 5!!. (I think that Mweb's accelerator is based on the same technology??)
Also, since the servers are probably in the UK, ALL of your traffic will become international!! Can you imagine trying to browse a local site on MyCareless??
