Improving cell phone signal in flat

Hi All

I have currently bought a new flat and the cell reception on all networks is poor. I have currently tested Vodacom, Cell C and MTN so pretty much covered all bases. All have very poor signal strength and its hard to impossible to make calls.

Coupled with the fact that my devices keep tower hopping so much that they get very hot and drain battery fast, is there anything I can do to boost the signal privately ?
