Are there any free programs out there that can capture in-game video? I would use FRAPS but the 60-second limit is too little. Xfire also has this function, but the videos are so huge it's scary! Thanks

They all record in raw AVI, in xfire just try to record at half size, as for Fraps it's just the same I had the full version and it does about the same as Xfire cept with tons more lag when recording video :(

How does one get it to a manageable size to upload it to youtube?

Just take the vid's and cut & edit them in Windows Movie maker, when you save you have an option to choose the size you want.

Bigger size = higher resolution + better quality :) you could also Start to upload the video to Xfire then as it starts stop it and copy the MP4 that it made to reduce the size, just then make sure you switch back to "full size" recording otherwise the vid will have something like a 400X300 resolution :o

You might be able to record output from s-video output to a video machine, pvr recorder outside of the CPU environment of your computer. This might solve the lag issue when recording on the same pc.
