Hi

As anyone experienced INBOUND Problems from OTEL? We have been having issues for the past week now.
We cannot even phone there office number.
 
We have some recently ported numbers from Telkom to O-Tel that are currently unable to receive inbound calls from the Telkom network. Mobile and VoIP calls to these numbers work fine. It appears to be a Telkom fault.

This is correct.
Telkom had a cabling fault which began at 16:00 on 23rd September, and only managed to fix it on 25 September at 11:30am, taking into consideration that Telkom staff is virtually inaccessible during holidays and weekends, despite contractual obligations to be available.

We have escalated the fault up to 3 of 5 tiers before they could accelerate a fix. Meanwhile, we enabled our redundant links where only some of the numbers were affected, hence limiting the downtime.

We have an official Telkom report accepting the fault. If you need to see it, please contact customer care from your client area.

OTEL would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to our clients. We will work harder in assisting our upstream partners troubleshoot problems when they are unable to and also look at other redundant options (although limited from Telkom).
