incompetent CYBERSMART

I have a Domain hosted with Cybersmart. Request was sent to move the domain to another hosting company, as they will be doing my new website. After various emails, more than 2 hours on the phone with Cybersmart and many swear words still no joy in moving the domain. I did not receive a ticket to accept for the move as the contact email is .cybersmart.co.za? Really unwilling and totally incompetent staff not knowing how to resolve the issue. Al they need to do is to accept the move from their side. Still waiting for a senior manager to call me back! So PLEASE stay clear of CYBERSMART if you ever expect any service! No use to re-send the request as it will only land up with them again, and another 5 days wasted! CYBERSMART = CYBERSTUPID
 
Registrant under my name BUT all contact emails under cybersmart.co.za hence not receiving my transfer ticket!
 
I see your life problems have made the Broadband & IT News section. Definitely enriched my life.

Sorry to hear you battle with this, I like them and didn't have any problems with them from 2008.

Definitely won't use them in the future.

Your best option right now would be to lodge a complaint with ZA Central Registry (ZACR) against Cybersmart for violation of the Registrar Agreement.

Registrars are required to register domain names in the registrant's name and ensure that all registrant information, including the email address is that of the registrant.

Registrars are not allowed to interfere with the transfer of a domain from one registrar to another.

They are the domain registrar and can enforce moves/releases etc...

According to the Registrar Agreement, Registrars are not allowed to hinder nor prevent a registrant's right to transfer their domain from one registrar to another.
 
I cannot agree with you more. Cybersmart has the most incompetent accounting department. I am with them for the past 4 months and they were not able to bill me correctly once. Every month I have to explain to them how to do their job. It is as if they have the memory of a goldfish.

I gave them written notice not to do any debit orders from my account. I cannot let these incompetent people have access to my schedule debit orders.
