Hi forum. Would greatly appreciate advice on this issue regarding what I can legally do. After canceling my ADSL+landline in November, I have noticed that Telkom keeps debiting my account in the amount of R129. This is listed as "subscription services" on my invoices.
After phoning numerous times, emailing, chatting on the support relay chat and even messaging them on twitter for over a month, I was finally informed today that the amount is for my "Fixed-Line-Look-Alike service". I have never had an FLLA subscription nor have I ever applied for one. I have now gone back to older statements in the period where I was an ADSL subscriber, and it appears that I may have paid for this non-existent service for 24 months! I had just never noticed it before, since it was bundled with my ADSL service as one item, and I never thought to check what the correct amount should be.
Is there anything I can do, legally speaking, to recover these incorrect deductions? I have asked Telkom to refund me for the last few months and to stop billing me, as I no longer have any Telkom services at all, but they just keep apologising and saying they'll get back to me while merrily debiting away.
