Incredible Connection robbed – again

Store robbed in the early hours of Saturday morning, electronics stolen.

The Incredible Connection store in Centurion Mall was robbed again on Saturday morning, the second in a week.

Centurion concerned citizens spokesperson Hannes du Buisson said six men entered the mall at 05:00 on Saturday morning and held up a security guard at gunpoint before breaking open the store.

“The men stole several Sansui TV’s and Apple electronics before fleeing in a Hyundai H1 panel van and a gold Volkswagen Touareg,” said Du Buisson.

The value of the stolen items is not yet known.

Store staff could not comment on the robbery, and instead referred Rekord to their head office, which they said was closed over weekends.

Lyttelton police could not yet comment on the robbery.

This is the second robbery at the store in a week.

Late on Monday night an unknown number of men robbed the store of an unknown amount of tablet computers and 30 PlayStations.

Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu ealier said the items stolen on Monday totalled R350 000.

It is unknown if the two robberies were committed by the same men.

Polygraphs aren't accurate and can falsely flag a person.

Depends who you use. Some very good and well trained professionals out there. Albeit a polygraph is not proof of a fact, it would give an I/O a strong indication of where to focus the investigations and find that proof. It is conceivable that more than one security officer was deployed on site, perhaps all complicit or not - polygraph results over a spread of people provides good data to work off.

No not depending on who you use, the actual machine itself is not reliable in telling a thing. It's based off flawed theory on lying. It has never been reliable and it shouldn't be used to determine if someone was involved in a crime like this, as it is the people will be nervous and scared.

Gees, must I spell it out for you. Polygraph results are not PROOF of a fact and never will be..it does not determine anything.

Its reliability, or not, is conjecture - the onus of proof still remains intact in any ensuing proceedings of which the results are, in any case, not admissible. It's a tool used successfully the world over for many many years.

Reminds me of the lone, fat guard that protects the worlds most dangerous creature in Jurassic World.
But if want to become a security guard expect to be paid peanuts otherwise join the special forces.
If guards can guarantee protection of your goods then you don't need insurance, irrespective of how much you pay them.
