Indemnifying service providers

Use a service provider, from the place you take to service your car to a hospital when you're ill, and among the terms and conditions, there may be clauses relating to you, the client/customer, indemnifying the organisation/provider from general and specific actions, including negligence on the part of employees.
Such terms are not enforceable unless you agree to it. When confronted by such a clause, I delete the relevant wording and initial it. So far they've not refused me service. If you DO sign, be aware you may limit you're rights. Perhaps the consumer protection act says more on this aspect.
